The interior is the work of the famous tea-ceremony house construction company, Nakamura Sotoji Komuten, and has a dignified, tranquil feel. The framed Mujinzo calligraphy by former Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa is a memorable feature. Cottonseed oil is used and various traditional Kyoto items are used, depending on the season, such as awa-fu, mugwort fu, yuba and gudgeons. Enjoy the ding of the brass pot as you help yourself.
